Antoni Gaudi is always my favourite architect and I love all of his works. In many(maybe all) of the works by artists, their personal style, character, experience, etc are revealed. But, when I look at Gaudi's works, his personal style and character is so strong, so I can imagine his great amount of passion towards his design and how much he loves his design and how much he really enjoyed expressing his world. This is one of reasons why Antoni Gaudi is always my favourite architect. In many of his architecture, the most outstanding features are the stylishness of curves, the combination of curves and lines, great colour selections and combinations. It was really difficult to choose one favourite architecture among Gaudi's works, but I believe Casa Batlló best meets what I like and what Gaudi likes.

Casa Batlló is built by Antoni Gaudi in 1877 and it is originally built for the residential purpose of middle-class family and it is now used as a museum. I will split this building into three parts, bottom part(first two floors), middle part and the roof. Firstly, the bottom part exhibits Gaudi's great use of curves. I always love that the curves that Gaudi uses look natural. In this part, the curves remind me of fish(especially sharks) with mouth opened. Secondly, the middle part exhibits great use of colours and patterns. Personally, I love and enjoy playing with colours and patterns, and this colour combinations and patterns are almost exactly what I usually like. Although I have seen this photo of this building several times, I am surprised everytime I see it because of the fascinating colours and patterns. Lastly, the roof demonstrates all of the features that I identified above. It shows the stylish gradation of colours, and the colour selections and combination is outstanding. But, what I like most in this part is the shape of the roof which is created by the curves and lines. Similar to the mouth-shaped curves of bottom part, the roof reminds me of the scale of fish which is also inspired by the nature. The most fascinating feature of this building to me is that despite of the contrasting themes/styles of each part of building, they are perfectly well combined with great connection and harmony between them.
